Join us for our Advent Series: All Earth is Waiting.
Advent is a season of expectation grounded in our recognition that things are not the way they should be. Our focus this year goes beyond our personal experience of the inbreaking of God into our world and expands to all of creation. Let us hear and respond to the call to care not only for one another but also creation. Each week ties a common advent theme to creation care. Nov. 26th - Nurturing nature in our neighborhood Dec. 3rd - Reducing our carbon footprint Dec. 10th - Our relationship with food, dealing with food waste composting Dec. 17th - Supporting our local animal shelters & ethically sourced products Dec. 24th - Connect with God in our daily lives |
As the pendulum again swings to its lowest point, and darkness wraps itself around us like a shawl, it is more important than ever that we remember the light. Our planet is riddled with pockets of places torn asunder by violence, hatred and fear; places of extreme discomfort. Some of us here feel that discomfort. If we do not feel our own grief, we are feeling the grief of those who live in the pockets of disparity and despair.
Join us December 19th at 7 pm for a Blue Christmas gathering. This event is nondenominational and is being lead by Sean Jeung, a retired Valley View Hospital chaplain. |
