What do we mean when we say EVERYONE IS WELCOME? If you are a senior in college or a senior citizen or you’re just having a senior moment…we welcome you.
Maybe you own a home, maybe you rent a room, maybe you still live with your parents, or maybe you’re not sure where you’ll find a bed tonight…we welcome you. If you love church, great. If you’ve got some church hurt, that’s okay, too. Maybe you’ve never stepped foot in a church and you think church people are weird. We are a little…and you are welcome. Maybe your skin is brown, or red, or tangerine, or some other shade of beautiful…we welcome you. If you vote Democrat, awesome. Maybe you’re a Republican-- wonderful. And even if you’re a Libertarian, or you’ve never voted…we welcome you. See, we believe that God made us all differently and that those differences are what make us unique and awesome. Life is boring when everyone looks, thinks, and acts the same and we don’t believe God created us to only hang with people just like us…in fact, God calls us the body of Christ, each with unique gifts and talents that make us who we are. We are better together, and we need your whole-hearted self (quirks and all). We’re not gonna lie. It’s tough sometimes to live in community with people who are all different, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. |
